Local visibility benchmark: emerging, local SEO, and HVAC agency medians
A transparent Semrush benchmark comparing three small cohorts while separating modeled organic visibility, referring domains, backlinks, and unavailable data.
The comparison
The first meaningful milestone is the emerging stage—not mature-agency scale.
Get Found’s August 2026 research separated three cohorts so a new domain was not compared only with mature category leaders. The medians describe the observed sample; they are not universal standards or guaranteed targets.
| Cohort | n | Authority Score | Modeled organic traffic | Referring domains | Ranking keywords | Backlinks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emerging controls | 3 | 2 | 0 | 38 | 49 | 50 |
| Local SEO agencies | 5 | 27 | 468 | 901 | 1,122 | 3,628 |
| HVAC marketing agencies | 5 | 29 | 2,098 | 1,954 | 1,270 | 28,852 |
Get Found baseline
Link evidence exists; several search metrics were unavailable.
| Property | Authority Score | Modeled organic traffic | Referring domains | Ranking keywords | Backlinks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| getfoundseopros.com | N/A | N/A | 0 | N/A | 0 |
| getfoundhvac.com | 0 | N/A | 8 | N/A | 8 |
Evidence note: N/A means the value was unavailable in the captured report. It must not be converted to zero.
How the mature peers earned visibility
A small number of pages carried much of the observed search traffic.
The pattern supports a compact system: high-intent commercial pages, useful supporting information, credible proof, and relevant distribution. It does not support publishing thousands of weak variants simply to increase page or keyword counts.
Volume warnings
Large inventories can overstate actual opportunity.
- Markitors showed 2,739 ranking keywords but only 3 modeled organic visits in the snapshot.
- CI Web showed 462,082 backlinks and 2,098 modeled organic visits; Blue Corona showed 28,852 backlinks and 32,809 visits.
- Only 2 of 10 mature peers showed a nonzero paid-traffic signal in the retained headline data, and all cohort paid medians were 0.
Method and limitations
Use the figures for directional comparison, not traffic or revenue forecasting.
- Single Semrush United States desktop snapshot collected August 25–26, 2026
- Small, mixed cohorts selected for practical comparison—not a representative market census
- Organic traffic is modeled from keyword position, search volume, and expected click-through rate
- Traffic & Market channel-mix data was locked, so direct, referral, social, and email visits were unavailable
- Paid evidence is directional because detailed advertising data was locked
- Backlinks are links, not referral visits, lead quality, or revenue
- Authority Score is proprietary and should not be optimized as a business outcome
- No competitor GA4, Search Console, CRM, cost, lead, or revenue data was available

Questions worth answering
Before you decide.
Are these actual competitor visits?
No. The organic traffic figures are Semrush modeled estimates used for relative comparison.
Does N/A mean zero?
No. N/A means the captured report did not provide a usable value.
Should a new site target the mature medians immediately?
No. The report recommends using the emerging medians—38 referring domains and 49 ranking keywords—as stage gates, not guaranteed outcomes.
Do backlinks show referral traffic?
No. A backlink can be a potential discovery or authority pathway, but referral sessions require first-party analytics.
